For richer flavor, color and aroma, you can substitute brown sugar in your favorite recipes using the following guidelines:

1/4 cup brown sugar = 1 tbsp Grandma's + 1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar = 2 tbsp Grandma's + 1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar = 1/4 cup Grandma's + 1 cup granulated sugar

Use Grandma's Molasses for:

Breakfast Topping: for pancakes, waffles, French toast or hot cereal

Glaze: ham, spareribs, pork roast and poultry during last half hour of roasting for a rich golden brown color and slightly sweet taste.

Dessert Topping: makes and excellent topping for ice cream, custard or pudding

Beverage Sweetener: for hot beverages with a twist, stir molasses into coffee, tea or hot cocoa. Or mix molasses and water to make ice cubes for iced tea or rum drinks.

Speedy Molasses Barbecue Sauce: stir 2 tablespoons molasses into 1 cup bottled barbecue sauce

Molasses Pecan Pie: substitute molasses for corn syrup in your favorite pecan pie recipe

Hearty Pork & Beans: Add 2 tablespoons molasses to 1 can (16oz.) warmed pork & beans. Heat through.

Molasses Spread: Blend 1 tablespoon molasses and 1 teaspoon sugar into 1/2 cup butter or margarine. Use as a spread on pancakes, waffles, toast or muffins.
